“Cultural Memory: Transdiasporic Art Practices” was exhibited at the Woman Made Gallery located from September 4, 2009 to October 10, 2009, and is part of the emerging transnational trajectory of memory work in contemporary visual arts. This exhibit included works of artists from diverse locations and heritages, and whose works embody individual acts of memorialization and remembrance in some way. The work ranged from intimate mementos to provisional memorials for collective memories of historical traumas.
